To expand the use of quality 3D modeling and animation on the
Macintosh, we are working on making 3Djoy available to members of the Mac 3D Team. To get the unlocked version ready, we had to integrate many separate
modules that had been changed over the last two years, had differing data handling
routines, and that were created using a combination of C and Pascal language development
systems. This has made the development of 3DJoy a significantly more difficult process
and required more effort than was originally expected. The good news is that these
difficulties have been overcome and 3DJoy is now ready for final beta testing. By
sharing common data handling routines and a common development system, the resulting
software will be more stable, easier to debug, and perform more efficiently on PowerMac-based
computers. To get 3Djoy, you must either become a member as outlined in http://www.vidi.com/join.html or make
a donation to get the 3Djoy CD as outlined in http://www.vidi.com/cd.html.
As an alternative
to getting the full 3Djoy sofware, a "Demo" and a "Lite" version
are available for download. The Demo version is a full-featured version that lets
you test the capabilities of Modeler and Presenter the modules to see if you are
interested in getting 3Djoy. You are only limited to
a 100K model size and 320x240 render size. The Lite version of the Modeler and Presenter
modules offer a higher modeling size limit (500K) with render size of 320x240. Being
a spline-based modeler, you are more easily able to create organic shapes that are
equivalent to ten times or larger to those create with a polygonal modeler. This
makes the Lite version an effective 3D tool for website and CD imagery and animation
development.
Use the form below to get on the Mac 3D Team mail list and download the Demo or Lite versions. The software is provided
"As Is" and there is no technical support.
Please fill in all parts of the form before going to download
page.

Post here what you think needs to be done to promote
the "Mac 3D Team" campaign and what you can do to help. |
Be sure to let others know about the Mac 3D Team effort and 3Djoy's capabilities, the availability of "Open Source" plug-in tools
to expand 3Djoy's capabilities, and the Mac
3D Team banner for posting on websites and let us know what else can be done
to gain recognition for "3D on the Macintosh". Join the Mac 3D Team
by posting the banner and supporting the effort to expand 3D on the Macintosh and
sign up to get 3Djoy.
Thank you for your time!
