NON-MILITARY COORDINATION

"The Joint Interoperability and Engineering Organization's Joint C4 Systems Engineering Department was designated by the Joint Staff in 1994 as the lead element for coordinating participation by all non-military organizations. The first organization invited to participate was the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) during JWID '94. In March of 1995, the invitation was expanded to include civil and non-government organizations as well. The Technical Implementation Division has been designated by the Director, Defense Information Systems Agency as the lead for establishing, and maintaining a continuous working relationship with participating non-military organizations. This relationship has resulted in the establishment of a JWID Agency Consortium whose membership consists of representatives from Federal, Civil and Non-government entities."


JWID Agency Consortium Organizational Structure

Participation in the consortium is open to any interested organization, with recommendations for approval being made as the result of a consensus of attending representatives. Coordination for the group is conducted by the designated Moderator. Recommendations are forwarded to the Joint Staff (J6) for approval, via the JWID Project Office, and in coordination with the Lead Service and Host CINC. Recommendations made by this group include:


Planning for JWID '96 will begin on 16 October 1995 in Ft. Huachuca, Arizona.
